Law School Resources
Participation:
The Section encourages law students, faculty and administrators
from the various law schools throughout the State who have an interest
in labor and employment law to participate in our Section’s
activities. Participation in our activities provides law students
who may be considering practicing in the labor and employment area
upon graduation the opportunity to learn more about both the substantive
and practical aspects of practicing labor and employment law while
having the opportunity to interact and become familiar with practitioners
in our field. Similarly, our Section encourages administrators
and faculty from the State’s law schools whose curriculum
and/or instructional discipline involves labor and employment areas
to become involved in Section activities to stay abreast of current
practice challenges and to also make Section members aware of topics
of discussion in academia.
Partnerships:
The Section’s relationships with law school administrators,
faculty and students is important as it allows our Section to partner
with law schools to provide faculty the opportunity to have our
members assist them by providing resources, presentations, guest
lecturing or other services to facilitate students learning more
about labor and employment law.
Scholarships:
Our relationships with law school administrators and faculty is
also important as it helps us to collectively identify law students
who may be deserving of our Labor and Employment Law Section scholarships.
Each year, the Section accepts recommendations from law school
administrators and/or faculty regarding deserving students who
have excelled in their studies while exhibiting an in interest
in practicing labor and employment law upon graduation. The Section
will review all applications for scholarships and will annually
award a scholarship to a deserving student at each of the State’s
law schools.
